Unaccustomed to its size, you even get a little lost, and sitting down in the salon your attention is immediately attracted by a large chubby steering wheel, a dashboard and a dashboard. , because thoughts rush through my head: awesome !!! ... A minute later you remember that you are in the real world and not a "kingdom" and it was nice to enjoy its exterior before the trip.

Finally, Toyota stopped making a brick on wheels out of Crown, and this model turned out to be harmonious and streamlined without a single sharp corner. Surely it was blown in a wind tunnel, trying to minimize the drag coefficient: The air flowing around the front part, without lingering on the headlights, smoothly passes to the windshield, through the roof and further into the trunk area and leaves through a small spoiler. Moreover, all the aerodynamics are thought out so that the dirt practically does not linger on the body, remaining only in the area of the wheel arches and in the area of the sidewalls of the rear bumper. Mirrors and the area of the rear brake lights remain clean.
Starting the Crown with the “Engine Start-Stop” button is a completely predictable technical solution, but nevertheless it gives one more drop of pathos to the overall picture. It is enough to insert the smart key into a special slot, or not to insert it at all, but leave it in your pocket, press the brake and press the button, and the engine immediately starts. Everything is so simple that it resembles the process of turning on a computer: you press a button and you do not worry. And besides this, the possibility of mechanical breaking of the door and steering column locks is excluded, because there is simply nothing to break - there are no locks :) YES and catch the key signal too: you can set up the smart key operation system so that the car simply will not start without it.
After starting the engine, the ambient sound fills the pleasant rumbling of the V-6, and just like the LS460, the Crown has excellent noise, sound and vibration isolation. But, naturally, in the LS 460 it is better, either due to the greater mass of the car 1610 kg versus 2030 kg, or due to the fact that better materials were used, or simply the V8 is better balanced. , the differences are so minimal that not everyone will notice. Separately, it is worth mentioning the selector of a 6-speed automatic machine with the ability to manually shift each gear. Made in the form of a "snake" familiar to all now, it is also very convenient to use, plus it is grippy with a pleasant marble-like plastic, which was also used in its decoration.
Driving qualities
We move the lever of the machine to the “D” position, release the foot from the brake and the car starts to pick up speed little by little. It is just at the start that the advantages of a 3-liter engine are manifested: the engine has such a high torque that once again you can not even step on the gas.
